The key to a successful business is employee driven

There needs to be an end to gross outrageous polices and profits that treat employees as a commodity and not people.
As a former and future founder of my own Transportation company. Employees make the company. We will never put profits before people and at our core we have a philosophy "Treat others as you shall want to be treated" can be summed up in a few points

First we have the technology lets use and embrace it use mapping software, traffic.com, e-mail, text messages, cell phones, the internet can and will answer any question for dispatch so use it!! knowing as much info as possible allows every one to preform there jobs better

Ever vehicle has sat radio, gps, and will never be sent on the road if the founder him self would not feel completely comfortable driving it!! No one wants or needs to brake down on the side of the road, loss of money and temper. if you see some thing wrong write it down and tell some one at that point! no matter how minor. A shaking vehicle today, could be a blow out today!!!

Employee loyalty is priority number one!!

1. employee contracts are a great way to make the job clear persist and with in bounds that can be refereed to at any point,

1a. At least 1,000$ in petty cash to be kept in safe on premises at all times, reduce the need for employee to have to be submit expense forms.

2. pay ever week at the same time and place with out regard for inconvenience for your self. (post in clear view a clear chain of who is responsible for pay and what time checks will be handed out. explain what is paid for and what is not. First thing to remember they want to treated like adults and the need to be compensated not complicated!

3. set salary caps for every person in management including owner and do not buje on this point. spell it out in there employee contract.

4. post profit/loss statements every few days. (we have the technology to find out in real time lets use it.) company profits should never be a secrete. I never understood why you would want to keep info quiet.

5. pay percentages of profits back to employees. profit sharing is not a dirty word it will make employees more proficient and the company more profitable. Clearly spell this out in profit/loss statement IE you will make this much extra at the end of the ..... if our number continue at this point.

6. Seniority has does not matter in promotion performance matters.

7. COMPLETE TRANSPARENCY...... when asked a question answer it directly. do not respond with another question

8. list amount of profit going toward equipment improvements, amount spend on fuel, amount spend on food for employees, show where every dollar goes every day.

9. Include family participation , fun activities, understand how a job impacts a person and family.

10. Driver lounge with a/c, TV, and entertainment Dinner provided at certain time of day or day of week.

Inclusion remember every body knows 10 people and most know a lot more then that effective marketing is having employees referr friends and family to use company and then they tell some one elsa and so it goes ..........
